Our 2010 Rosé is classic Hogwash style! Made in the traditional saigneé method, this extremely popular wine is a blend of two Grenache vineyards. The Paso Robles Grenache imparts a light to medium body, while the Mendocino Grenache provides a pure vibrant acidity, forming the core of this wine.
Hand picked under the darkness of night, then lightly pressed and cold fermented in stainless steel barrels, the wine’s bright, lively essence was preserved, maintaining the fresh nose of wet stone, ripening strawberry, watermelon-rind and faint aromas of jasmine and honeysuckle.
Bursting with melon and peach flavors and dancing with pleasant acidity on the pallet, the wine is balanced with notes of hibiscus and cut hay. The finish is clean, leaving a pleasant lasting taste of pencil-lead and orange peel. Perfect alone as an aperitif, or as an accompaniment to casual summer meals. The Hogwash will taste great all season and next, not that anybody expects it to be around that long!
